User Reviews about Seiko Men's SGG709 Titanium Case and Bracelet Watch
I've owned Seiko watches since 1974, and I've never been disappointed. While this watch is not an exception, so to speak, it is not of the quality of the watches I have owned in the past. While Seiko is a good value, inexpensive, this watch seems to be lacking somewhat in material workmanship. The band is a noticeably less quality than the watches I have owned in the past. Whether this is due to the difficulties stemming from the recent economy, I can not say for sure.
Overall it is a good watch and I would probably buy it again becuase I'm not going to pay $400 or more for a wrist watch, and this watch does serve the purpose. It fills a nitch that other watch companies don't seem to be interested in. -- Seikon SGG709 Men's Wrist Watch
The watch provides what is advertised. It is light and has a professional look. The day-date calendar gives needed information. The face/time is difficult to see in the dark/no indiglow/making it a useless item to wear. -- Perfect with a flaw
If you are looking for a lightweight watch then the Seiko SGG709 is watch of choice. I compared to equivalent Stainless Seiko models and they are significantly heavier. The dark blue dial looks pretty much black except under bright light but still looks great. If you decide to size the band yourself be careful to not deform the bracelet since Titanium is much more ductile than Stainless - if you stress the band too much certain links on the watch can get all bent and deformed. Might be better to have a jeweler/watchmaker band it for you. The main reason for purchasing this watch was for weight and it definitely is light and the Seiko name already has a reputation of quality that precedes itself. -- Lightweight Watch
For around $150 this was a good buy. I love the titanium construction, it makes the watch very light and rustproof (as far as I know).
The price was much less than I would have paid in a department store, and without sales tax, which is another advantage. The only thing I don't like is that it is a bit noisy and you will notice the "ticking" of the movement. -- Stylish watch
Seiko automatic watches for men are built like tanks. They offer terrific value for money. I would suggest, however, that you buy a stainless steel watch and stay away from titanium. The links in the titanium band wear faster than ss bands, and the band links will be quite sloppy after about 4 or 5 years. Gold wears even faster. Buy stainless steel for best durability. -- Seiko automatic titanium
